Meet the Injectable Assessment Team

The Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital is led by four consultants working inside a tertiary general hospital. Ke He, MD, is responsible for the medical review of this site and performs the treatments it compares. Both sides of the decision are represented on the team: Dr. Yongbo Jia holds the dermatological assessment and the skin conditions that affect how an injectable behaves, Dr. Tongchun Mao holds the surgical answer when the finding is descent rather than volume, and Dr. Shaoliang Wang holds the faces in which previous filler or an irreversible material has already become a problem.

Deputy Director & Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics · Attending Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending · Lead Physician of This Site

Skin & laser aesthetics · injectable volume restoration · assessment before an irreversible material

Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service — and she is the lead physician of this site. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and injectable aesthetics for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.

Dr. He performs both of the injectables compared on this site, and her position is that the choice between them follows from one question before any other: what can be done if the result is wrong. Because one of the two materials cannot be dissolved, she reserves it for patients whose finding suits it, whose history is fully known and who understand that the result is not revisable. She declines both where the finding is descent rather than volume, where previous filler has not been accounted for, and where the expectation is a change that an injectable does not produce.

Clinical focus

  • Assessment that separates volume loss from descent before any injectable is planned
  • Injectable volume restoration, including the choice between a dissolvable and an irreversible material
  • Recognition and management of nodules, lumps and firm areas after injection
  • Vascular occlusion: immediate recognition and emergency management
  • Reviewing previous filler before adding to it, and deciding when not to add more

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Laser Medicine Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Facial Rejuvenation Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Chongqing Plastic Surgery Quality Control Center
  • Published 5 papers, holds 5 national patents, and introduced 2 new clinical techniques

One of these is not revisable

Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if a result is wrong, though not always completely. Polycaprolactone cannot be dissolved by anything, and a nodule or an uneven area is managed or removed rather than reversed. That difference is not a detail about the materials; for many patients it is the decision.

Decide what happens if you dislike the result

Arrange an assessment. We will establish whether what has changed is volume or position, explain what each material leaves in the tissue and what can be done if it is wrong, and say plainly if neither is right for you.
